Sick Household

I have had a sick household since January.  Most everything that Dylan gets, Scott also catches.  We have dealt with colds, respiratory infections, and LOTS of ear infections.  I have been lucky not to catch anything.  Hey somebody in this house to stay well, right?

This week Scott tells me there is something wrong with his head.  It hurts...He had a doctor appointment later in the week so I told him to ask the doctor.  But in the meantime...our conversation:

Scott:  Babe, my head hurts; I think I have a tumor.

Me:  Did you take some Ibuprofen?

Scott:  No, it doesn't feel like a headache.

Fast forward a couple days at the doctor (Scott recalled this conversation for me; I wasn't there):

Scott:  My head hurts; I think I have a tumor.

Doctor:  Did you take some Ibuprofen (looking at him like he is an idiot)?

***He came home and took some Ibuprofen***

The Finger

This makes me giggle...

Really, are words even necessary?

Sunday afternoon at the park!

Today we took Dylan to a park down the street from the house.  We have lived in this house for 5 years and never been there.  Wow, what we have been missing...playgrounds, picnic areas, fields for games (I will warn the family...I am thinking a kickball game when everyone is here for Dylan's birthday would be LOTS of fun!)

We found the playground and attempted to put Dylan in the swing.  He screamed his head off.  So then we tried the sandbox...and he screamed his head off.  So, we ended up walking around (strolling for Dylan) and just checking things out.  For me, it was the perfect afternoon.  We took a little snack break with stale Oreo cookies and tried to entertain Dylan with bubbles.  I think us blowing the bubbles actually entertained him more than the actual bubbles, as all he did was stare at us.  :-)

The only thing that would have made this afternoon more perfect is ice cream.

Enjoy the pics!

This is pretty much the same reaction we got on the swings too...

Table foods...

We have been trying for a couple months now to get Dylan on table foods.  So far, this little adventure has been very unsuccessful.  He either refuses to open his mouth or spits out whatever we put in there.  I have tried everything...bananas, sweet potatoes, green beans, carrots.  I have tried to mash them, cut them into little pieces, put it on his tray for him to eat.  NOTHING WORKS!  Daycare has had no success either.

Then yesterday, it happened...he stole a chicken nugget from another child, and loved it!  So they gave him some more.  Then, gasp, he ate some green beans too!

Yeah, I did a little happy dance with the teachers when I took him in this morning.  He may have stolen that chicken nugget, but I feel like we are all winners today.

Scott said he his definitely my child since I happen to LOVE chicken nuggets, strips, tenders, whatever!

Go Dylan!!!!!
